This course is offered live through Zoom and the recordings will be available afterwards if you are unable to attend the live session.

This training provides a deeper look at the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder joint as a basis for learning to evaluate the upper body. We will explore structure, movement and function, and the application in yoga practice to address common contraindications.

This course will teach you how to work with a variety of injuries and how to troubleshoot new ailments on your own. You will leave with a deeper understanding of this joint that you can immediately apply to your teaching and your practice by more thoroughly understanding the function of this joint.

The Shoulder Intensive Yoga Teacher Training is one of our core orthopedic yoga teacher trainings along with the spine and hip yoga teacher trainings – all of which are highly recommended for advanced teachers.

Learning goals:

-Learn and integrate functional anatomy of the upper limb

-Learn and apply structural assessment and interview based assessment of the upper limb

-Understand common conditions of the shoulder

-Apply functional movement of the upper limb to design a well balanced class

-Integrate Functional Anatomy & Physiology for shoulder girdle (gross anatomy and intro to functional anatomy)

-Therapeutic Assessment Overview, Interview, Diagnostics of the shoulders

This workshop counts as 10 HR Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits.
