March 14 – 21, 2020 | Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
For the first time, my co-teacher Jeff Warren and I are offering a meditation and movement retreat in the Osa Peninsula in southern Costa Rica, at the Finca Exotica “ecolodge” (eco-PR vid here). We’ll be just down the road from Corcovado National Park, an area famous for its biodiversity – National Geographic once called it “the most biologically intense place on Earth.” We’re talking tapirs and crocs and tiny bright blue poison dart frogs – in other words, an ecologist’s dream, and our dream too.
Although Finca Exotica has the usual comfortable retreat centre trappings, this is absolutely a retreat for adventurers. We are only talking 20 people, and only those excited at the prospect of hikes and jungle exploration. Movement classes will be diverse and may spill out onto the beach.
In addition to a daily meditation class, there will be at least two other silent sits per day, with an option to do more for those so inclined.
Getting down to the Osa is part of the adventure – most folks will want to fly into the capital San Jose before the retreat begins and stay the night. A shorter flight to Puerto Jiminez can be booked through Sansa the next day, and then the lodge will arrange a taxi for the final leg of the journey. Or maybe you can find some other way down.
For those who don’t know Jeff, my friend is a mindfulness wizard. He is a writer and meditation teacher. Jeff’s approach to meditation is through exploration, with a focus on understanding the core skills, so that anyone can feel more empowered and alive.
You’ll find a rough schedule below, but this is subject to change. Expect a mix of creative meditation and creative movement, always with an emphasis on play, with healthy meals and multiple jungle / beach excursions.

Our retreat was beyond outstanding. Scott and Jeff bring their individual talents and expertise and their teachings are incredibly complimentary! It’s not just yoga and not just meditation: the retreat energized our bodies and enlightened our souls in a way that no single teacher/practitioner could do alone. Scott and Jeff are in a class by themselves and made for a week of true physical and spiritual awakening. – Scott Morgan
The Winter Reset Retreat was a beautiful community of people of all generations coming together to explore movement, meditation, and connection. Scott and Jeff are exceptional teachers who believe movement and meditation are a birthright for us all. Their passion to share their knowledge and experience is truly a gift. – Katy
Scott and Jeff have so much to teach, yet hold their wisdom lightly, creating a few things at once: a lovely impromptu community; a space for truly individualized, learner-centered growth; and a chance to deepen one’s understanding of movement, consciousness, and the connections between mind and body. All that, in a tropical paradise, with kind and interesting people and a lot of laughter—it’s a winning combination for a retreat. I haven’t experienced anything quite like it and highly recommend it. – Sarah Berg
